Busy man though he may be, HRH. Jonathan R. Bews managed to scribble this first one out in between shooting scenes for his upcoming feature film.
Ms. Sarah McFadden’s, by Jennifer Wrigley, is the opening piece in the sound track of bespoke film so we offer here as a sort of pre opening night taser.
Port Seann Seosamh, ‘Old Joe’s Tune’, is a sweet, wee melody, in D, whose title sounds a whole helluva lot less stupid in the Gaelic than in the English (feckin’ Anglos). It also seems to poke its head up, from time to time, in the American, Ol’ Timie tradition.
Last Tango in Harris, by R. S. MacDonald, is a wicked and tricksy pipe jig to which we have added a few extra notes. Its title is the same as that of the 1908 silent film, directed by D. M. MacKeech, on which the better known, Last Tango in Paris was based.
