Mountain Views from ICELOCK CONTINUUM by Monika Pich

Mountain Views is a wet, storm-laden, snow-swept sound narrative about a solitary man wandering through the mountains with no clear destination. He surrenders to the harsh circumstances imposed by nature. Created for Icelock Continuum, the piece drifts through shifting weather, windy and frozen textures, and the quiet, taut atmosphere of being exposed to the elements. It is composed of original field recordings captured in different places and at different moments in time.

When cold surrounds us, we instinctively search for a source of warmth. In extreme conditions, fire becomes indispensable — without it, survival is uncertain. We kindle a flame not only to warm the body, but also to anchor ourselves against the vast and indifferent landscape.
