Lyrics
Well I was going down to the water
Was about time for me to vacate
Had the car all packed with fishing line
and a six pack to pass the day
There were seagulls eyeing me up and down
from a distance far away
oh what an ominous portent
that i ignored with naivete
The waves were rushing hard
but i was rushing to escape
i loosed my boat and paddled out
bobbing out amidst the breaks
the water looked all black
just like blood drew from a drake
but i set my line and cast it out
and watched the hook dive in with grace
Beach horror!
The horror of the beach!
Beach horror!
The horror of the beach!
it was as quiet as i needed
floating free out with my thoughts
i didn’t see another soul
but never worried i’d get lost
then my hook latched onto something
pulling hard i took a ride
but my line came back free and broke
i’ll catch that fish next time
then the next one came a bobbing
And the next one after that
I was reeling and roping
Piling up my salty catch
But the waves they started growing
knocking me right were i sat
i was paddling my oars when i heard
a big loud crash
Beach horror!
The horror of the beach!
Beach horror!
The horror of the beach!
my boat had hit an object
on a shore i hadn’t seen
it was black and tall, an obelisk
and i was miles from home it seemed
i got my self a moving
set my feet out on that beach
and i reached my hand to touch it
as i moved into a dream
in that dream i was a monster
giant fangs and big black wings
i would swoop down low and take my fill
any people i would see
i was animal and malice
i was a forest of winged teeth
i lived for years in secret
in a cave right by the sea
where I’d bring them all to slaughter
like a scavenger to meat
til eventually they found me
brought their guns to fell the beast
but i wiped that plague of killers
broke their skulls in with my feet
while my island kept on moving
bringing new places to feed
Beach horror!
The horror of the beach!
