Lighteater by caitlin c. harvey

On May 1st, renowned Detroit sound artist caitlin c. harvey is set to release her new body of work entitled, "Lighteater," on the newly established Detroit label, Circle One. Known for her innovative approach to electronic music, Harvey's work delves deep into themes of regeneration, reflection, and metamorphosis, drawing inspiration from the natural world and the industrial landscape of Detroit. She dubs her new style of sound, ‘Cyborganics’.

Throughout the album, Harvey navigates themes of loss and transformation, drawing from her own recent experiences and weaving them into a sonic tapestry that is both haunting and cathartic.​​

About Caitlin Harvey:

Born 1993, Caitlin Harvey is a sound artist currently living in Detroit, MI. She creates innovative electronic music, sourcing from original field recordings and experimenting with unorthodox rhythms. Much of her work plays with nostalgia, as well as spiritual themes, all with a mech-ambient twist. This has led her to create her own genre of Cyborganics, amalgamating her interests in the natural world and reflections of the post-industrial environment of Detroit. Caitlin’s music career developed in Detroit’s North End, inspired and mentored by its resident musicians like Submerge Records, Onyx Ashanti, Theo Parrish, and Waajeed of Underground Music Academy. Caitlin continues to further her music career in spatial sound, sound healing, music for film, audio technology, linguistics, and releasing her solo work.
