Sex, Drugs, and Rock 'n' Roll have always gone together as some kind of unholy triumvirate of Bad Things. But are they *ALL* bad? Or are they actually paths to Enlightenment? Or are they paths to Enlightenment *AND* Bad Things at the same time? And if they're so Bad, why is everyone doing them? And if they're paths to Enlightenment, why are so many people who do them Not Enlightened? And if they're paths to Enlightenment, why does Big Government want to control them so much? Or is that EXACTLY WHY? And why are all three so commonly connected to each other? Are they links to Godhood? Or heaps of harmless fun? Or are they harmful fun? Or are they only harmful when used disrespectfully? Or is *EVERYTHING* harmful in the wrong doses? Or is *EVERYTHING* fun in the right ones? Are these things more than "just fun"? After five billion albums of purely fun-based musickal mashuppery, 'The Trio of Decadent Pastimes' marks a solid return to the plunderphonic audiodocumentary form Buttress pioneered in the early noughties.

Why 'Drugs' first? It was ready first. But also, look around you - the world is already changing! Outdated and often racist old anti-drug laws are being done away with - just during the making of this album, magic mushrooms have been decriminalised in several places and pot is getting legaller and legaller all around the globe. If they'd sat on this album much longer, it could all very well become completely irrelevant. So here it is!

Yes, it's fucking long. But not as long as it would've been if it was a Netflix series, or some feature-length movie presentation. Sit back, nang down a couple of goofballs, eat some crack, and let yourself listen. By the time you get to the end of the album, all this will have just been a terrible dream...
