it’s taken me almost two years to finish this tape, which started life as a scrapped second half of the last one ("peculiar refractions..." on unifactor), roughly a half hour of music that at times has felt like it was manically scratching its way out via the base of my skull, gnawing on my brainstem, and filling my lungs with quikrete. meditations and wordless lamentations on the life and death of the party, coughing up slime, inward retreats when the truth rings your bell, and gently dusting yourself off as the smoke clears. as usual, guitars, electronics, and tapes - something borrowed, something blue - an attempt to document the psychic landscape inside the american maelstrom, always with love, this time i think more levity, and delivered with pride.
