BURIAL94 - Nyktos (Self Produced)
Anticipating their new EP titled "the Gate" in May 2025 I listened to this mini album for my first introduction and got hooked. The spiritual neurons were signalling hopelessly as the darkness from the catacombs, the cave where the mantis Nyx worked, the labyrinthine corridors, fear had put me in a dead end, in pain before rebirth. That which has its roots in the Eleusinian mysteries. Where Demeter would bestow life again after being purified with water, mint and barley. The band has its roots in the 90's as their name reveals and their ambient black is a ritual, sometimes quiet sometimes dangerously eerie and worth immersing ourselves in it as an homage and respect to the deity that even Zeus feared.
