Wattle & Daub by Bryson I. Gentry

A brash step into less traveled territory, Wattle & Daub marks a reserved classical composer's first formal foray into self-expressive songwriting. Colored by lush orchestral arrangements, as well as a few handmade instruments built by Gentry himself, this album is a compilation of reflective vignettes with themes ranging from the innocent to the apocalyptic. Love and contentment. Loneliness and carpentry. From whimsical hellscapes and the Tribulation at the end of the world, to a child's love for her stuffed animal and a day trip to Amish country.
Informed by a lifetime of quietly composing orchestral tone poems and ambient drone pieces, Wattle & Daub is, at it's core, a folk album mired in rich orchestration, rhythmic complexity, and atmospheric soundscapes. A project undertaken almost entirely on his own from writing, playing and singing, to recording, producing and engineering, the artist invites you to immerse yourself in a fresh, new experience as Bryson I. Gentry presents...Wattle & Daub.
