After the emancipation proclamation, the south still wasn’t taking any shorts when it came to slavery, it took the civil war to end to find the enslaved were really free, in 1865, Gordon Granger rode with his troops to Texas to give a message, an executive decree, General Order No. 3 which stated that all slaves were free, it wasn’t until December 6th when freeing went national & the Amendment stated slavery irrational with Georgias ratification, the 27th state was effective for the nation, but all glitters ain’t gold, even after the abolition, some states would pass out Black Codes and Convict Leasing, this ain’t the stuff that they be teaching so listen while I’m speaking, this a day we remember the pain of many, work ain’t never finished so listen as I push it along, and put the pain in the song, did the research so the information ain’t wrong
