Remember! by Brindle's Manse
Remember! is the first album by Northumberland band Brindle's Manse. The songs, written by Bill Carey and Paul Thompson, display a broad range of influences - 60's British Invasion, Glam, 1st Wave Punk, Psychedelic and post-punk, as well as nods to individual artists as diverse as Chic, Eno, Duane Eddy and Ennio Morricone to name a few.
The sound of the band is reminiscent of 1980's Indie Rock. (Bill Carey played in various bands of that era, including his short-lived Creation band Something Pretty Beautiful.) The songs are built around guitar interplay rather than histrionics, and the lyrics are front and centre. These are melodic songs with a bit of dissonance thrown in to keep things interesting.
