Lyrics
Left foot, right foot every day
In a sapphire world,
The ground is brown where I lay.
My head is throbbing as I hear you say
“Don’t bring down my buzz my friend”.
Broken glass litters empty streets.
Arms and legs flail to a steady beat.
A sharp cry brings me to my swollen feet
And the ground is bloodied where I stand.
Now I see the signs are surrounding me,
Nothing is just what it appears to be.
A blindfold makes you feel so free,
Pacemaker brings me to my knees.
Well I got three reasons
Why my eyes are wide through the night.
I look, but I’m not seeing in the ground any sign of life.
The first one was my brother,
Started off with his feet on the other side,
His emptiness was smothered
By the fear that the halves of his heart would never realign.
The second was another,
I never really knew him
Until I saw him fight for his life.
His face was covered,
But his mind was in a desert
And I left him there to die.
The third one is a cold blade
Protruding from the gaping hole in the small of my back.
The quivering hand that laid waste
Just crawled away, abandoning the final attack.
Till the endless chanting breaks,
I’ll never hear a word you say.
Till the night gives way to day,
Just run as fast as you can.
Electric shock, distorted sound,
Heavy head begins to pound.
Lights are flashing all around.
Only destination is down.
