Cowboy's Son from Julia - 1995 by The Wind
Kinda about me but also a bit of a Louis L'Amour/Zane Grey reference. I was also big into Waylon and that cowboy image ideal thing. Me trying to sing like Waylon was what was causing me to sing so low at times too. Like I was some new Waylon Cowboy. Later on I would try to emulate Lyle Lovett and or SRV. This was a vocal problem that would haunt me for years. It wasn't until after 2004's Wyoming that I started to settle into my own natural voice.

I've always been compelled to write.
Early on it was journaling and poetry, but then that merged with my guitar addiction to become songwriting.
The process was always a bit manic, pressured, as if a large gorilla had stepped into my room, grabbed me by the lapels and said, "I will not let you sleep until you write this idea down." And so for years the gorilla and I danced madly thru the night.
