Frieze from dos+ by Laura Chislett and Brad Gill

Theis title,‘frieze’, is partly ironic, as it contains some of the most active music on the album in contrast to what might be suggested by its homonym (freeze). It’s distinctively episodic with a clear sense of drive and continuous returns to very clear melodic fragments presented in constantly shifting light. This seemed very like a frieze in architecture, a decorative continuous patterned band encircling a building.

dos+ is a flute and vibraphone duo formed by Sydney based musicians Laura Chislett and Brad Gill. Our focus is on creating collaborative and spontaneous improvisation-based works.
