Introversions. Improvisations. Inner versions of self. Conversations with self. Sensuations. Contemporalations.
The second of two compilations of selected acoustic & electroacoustic contemplative instrumentals, previously released on albums from 2016 - 2019, with a few new works. Two exceptions are Squid Moon, a spontaneous recording test back in 2004, and Redemption, an octave mandola improvisation that was released in 2007 on the album Marzipan.
Often these more reflective tracks have been tucked in with less ambient bedfellows, so for awhile now I've wanted to bring them together and give them some breathing room among their own kind. Sounds range across acoustic & clean electric guitar, ukulele, octave mandola, saz, box slide guitar, smatterings of cello, with electronic treatments in most cases. Many of them are spontaneous improvisations that got caught, others underwent a process of domestication, but all are mood poems.
