This compilation is the first and second cassettes released by Bootbeast Carnival back in the 80s. Both cassettes showcase the original line up featuring Jim Andreas on vocals,Andy Lewis on guitar, Lloyd Whittaker on bass and Phil Riggins on drums. Bootbeast was a band that combined some of the speed of thrash with the "post punk" music that would eventually be called Goth. Influences like Bauhaus, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Theater of Hate and many of the hardcore bands popular in those days mashed together to create a unique sound and energy. The recordings here are raw and reflect the lack of production values heard on today's underground music. That may be the appeal. Although these songs have been remastered, they still evoke the spirit in which they were recorded.
