You want resignation, try war
You wanna see me again, and I just went out the door

You want compassion, get a pet
You want justice, get upset
You wanna know where it is I’ve gone, and I haven’t even been long

You want comfort, try to pray
You want answers, what’s standing in your way
You want the truth, but that I fear is not mine to say

You want it special, put a bow on it
You want it real, just look at it
You say you miss me, and I believe it

You want wisdom, try a dream
Want assurance, try belief
You want to know that I’m ok, but it’s not my place to say

You want perfection, read a book
You want distraction, ask a crook
You want rejection, but I can’t let you off the hook.
