like you want to live
Do you have what it takes
for what it has to give?

Meet those people
then meet some more
Are you someone they recognize
or someone they ignore?

Some affinities
are self-evident
when your destinies
are confluent

Those people were my real friends
but I had to throw them away

Without the baggage
that reputations carry
and no dead history
to hope to bury

one is truly free
but feels like falling
knowing where one lands
must be where Fate is calling

That woman was
just handed to me
I liked her ‘cause
she really knew me

Love waited there for both of us
but I had to throw it away

It was there, close
enough for me to seize
Now it’s a web of
elusive memories

All the mysteries
were there for me to learn
At my turning point
I was too stuck to turn

I’d felt joy and stress
now I am numb
I cannot regress
just to become

the man I was supposed to be
‘cause I had to throw him away
