This Affection by Doombaby

This is not a quarantine album, although it may play one on TV in these unprecedented times. I started as I usually do, amassing songs to the point where I realize that I'm going to start forgetting them if I don't record them. I tend to be foggy on dates, but both Downer Baby and Patchwork Heart were initially recorded for non-Doombaby purposes before I decided that multiple projects are not for me- it's all the same project regardless of the aesthetics that I'm obsessed with at the time. With the knowledge that I was moving my family north and a couple of vacation days to burn, Andy Laffin and I laid down the basic tracks over a couple of would-be work days and things seemed to be chugging right along in the summer of 2019. And then I moved, learned what life is like as a dad (busy, lots of Elmo) and built a customized studio in my our basement, where I rerecorded overdubs off and on for, Jesus Christ, 2 fucking years. It should be noted that Andy Crear somehow was able to fly in the entire drum performance, amazingly.

So now I'm calling it done because there is no reason for it not to be, and I need to go obsess over the next one (I true to form have 3 more albums in various stages of done). So here you go. Not sure if it sounds like it took 2 years, but I'm good with it. Thank you sincerely for listening the weird shit I make in my basement.
