I wrote and recorded this song for my ex around May 2022, after we decided to break up, at which point we were still practically together and fooling around, and I strongly felt that we couldn't be together due to my health issues and medicinal misadventures, but it didn't take long before the prophecy of the song also became a lot more real than I'd imagined. My problems had already started back in 2020, but things never really got back to normal after I beat cancer in June 2021, even though this time, the cancer was thankfully only a small bump in the road on a dark and nasty path, but I felt like it was fitting for the cause no less. Today I no longer look back, I feel a lot better with myself and mentally, at least as far as relationships go, and I like to think of the song more as a tribute to what once was, for all that it was, good and bad.
