PEAS200: Field Recording – Denton, Texas, 2018. The sounds of threshing pea seeds from their dry shells. Pisum sativum. Peas are self-pollinating perfect plants – they have both male and female sex organs. In 1903, over 400 pea seed varieties were grown and sold to North American farmers, by 1983 only 25 varieties existed, even less exist now.
Also included: 3 locally grown, heritage Sugar Ann Snap Pea seeds for display.

“gardenblock” is an outdoor corten steel sculpture-pavilion by Kirsten Angerbauer. Inspired by the UNT Community Garden space, the goal of gardenblock is to represent sustainability within culture, and to become a gathering space for interdisciplinary creativity on UNT campus.
