Blueberry Hill from Lagniappe by Blair Frodelius & the Sazerac Band

Surprisingly this song was a big hit for Glenn Miller in 1940, and his version is typical of the dance band style of the era. But in the 1950s many of the previous decade's hits were reworked to have an R&B, Doo Wop or Rock & Roll feel. The most famous version today is by New Orleans native Antoine "Fats" Domino Jr. in 1956. The recording was in fact spliced together from several incomplete takes in the studio.

Blair Frodelius (rhythm guitar and vocals) has been a professional musician since 1997 and has performed over 10,000 concerts playing songs in all styles from the 1850s-1990s.

The Sazerac Band are Joe Davoli (fiddle), Kim Frodelius (percussion and harmonies), Larry Kyle (slide guitar) and Mark Nanni (accordion).
