Rapper / producer K. Clifton is a veteran of the underground rap scene emanating from America's Inland Empire, the Pacific Northwest. His fellow Spokane, Washington native BITWVLF is his partner in WRISTS, a hip-hop project which debuted in 2015 with the edgy, introspective Yodo EP. Having contributed vocals and beats to All Urban Outfield, early Black Ceiling recordings, and tracks with a multitude of well-respected alternative rappers including Rishii, Sharkdentures and p.WRECKS, K. Clifton's philosophical, densely-written lyrics conduct the flow of a WRISTS track, while dusted piano loops, skittering beats and chopped and screwed samples characterise BITWVLF's production. WRISTS are the aftermath of a swag apocalypse, sitting in the dusty ruins smoking a Swisher, lacing up their Filas. This is hip-hop through a glass darkly, through a cracked lens - a bittersweet antidote to the shallow, commercial thrills of the mainstream. Dark, psychedelic, hypnotic, at times cosmic, their sound continues to evolve on their second EP, the forthcoming Swish.
