"a full on noise-jazz symphony" -Raised by Gypsies
"Hutchins and Moore display their individual virtuosity, and group musicianship to create a cohesive product. 'click/blow' is well worth the listen" -Signals for Images
The members of Binary Canary began collaborating in 2013, creating solo and chamber concert works. As this collaboration evolved, the results became increasingly improvisatory and technologically interactive. The musical vocabulary that developed as a result of this co-performer/co-composer exploration became the basis for Binary Canary. The recordings on included on "click/blow" are free improvisations selected from multiple sessions during the first few months of 2015. Hutchins performs on alto, tenor, and baritone saxophones, bass clarinet, and no-input mixer. Moore performs on laptop (live processing done with SuperCollider) and amplified trumpet.
