Sweet Cane knits together his broad musical interests, from tuba-driven funk to sweet swing to free improvisation to a suite inspired by a seminal work of the Harlem Renaissance. It offers an interpretation of the past, present, and future of Black creative music, rich in creativity and community, integrity and innovation.
