Played this one in ancient times
And sang of beautiful maidens or silence of their king
Tree frogs trill at midnight
As the stars shine off the bay
Or just a ballad to mark this holiday

The counter striker has waited
The battle scars too smooth and faded
Nobles gathered their power
For wenches, cake and ale
Open-hearted messenger
Made haste to find her way
Just in time to mark the holiday

Another shindig has ended
The business world no more suspended
The road you long for release from
Is snaking on ahead
Don't know what you're feeling
Cuz I lost what I should say
