This is the arbitrary line I set in 2020 as the Real Start of my discography. In my opinion this is the first time an authorial voice shines through in the production and lyrics. And what odd production! So many layers they crashed my laptop. I also found myself very interested in including long drones in the backdrop of these pieces, usually performed on toy instruments who didn't have very many other notes anyway. I would blow a single note on a tin whistle for as long as I could and just loop that.

Other experiments - multiple songs on this make use of actual hardware synthesizers. DX7 is prominent, as is a cheapo Yamaha keyboard I was controlling with my computer. Drums are closemiked with SM57s instead of, as they were on The Dream, recorded with a MacBook VoIP mic from the other side of the room. Lush instrumentation. I think some of these songs have like, pots and pans on them.
