Narcissus from Narcissus by beholding

for everyone suffering
in so many ways
is anything comfort
in the ending of days
you can take a deep breath
and stay down when the poetry ends

for everyone thinking
you’ll pause and you’ll pray
if there are angels somewhere
they’re trying to say
you can try to be kind
but you'll never be held

will the ocean remember
the sound of my breathing
these awful desires
believe or be leaving
if longing is beauty
my only belonging
oh God

will the mountain remember
the silence i stole away
beauty returning as love
for anything dancing
to dance in the mirror
to hold beautiful things

for anyone struggling
to live in these times
no place like the sea
for a troubled mind
for anyone apart from themselves
who cannot be apart

I can’t let go of my suffering
in so many ways
i just can’t let go
