Carrotade: or starting over with whatever you've got

A very atypical psyfolk/psychedelic rock song of an experimental type and revulsive lyrics is the original way to start the new year 2023 for Beev Rations, always moving in their unlimited indie/alternative field.

Authentic hymn to the assertiveness and capacity of the individual to reinvent himself from his own essential integrity, Carrotade is also very peculiar in terms of its production. This is a 2019 track that was originally intended to be included on that year's True Nature EP, but due to not being finished in time and also not being entirely compatible with the tone and subject matter of True Nature, it was discarded.

The vocals, acoustic guitars and bass -all done by Alan James- constitute the basic mix that was retaken towards the end of 2022, adding electric guitar, horns and, also, other sounds and effects (using for these the same recordings of the basic mix). The result will undoubtedly surprise the listener familiar with the Beev Rations discography. However, a similar precedent, in terms of production, we have it in Jelly Realities, included in EP Crooner (2022).

Finally, the official video of the song is at the height of the same, enhancing its strength, exhuberance and enigmatic charm. May you enjoy it, as well as the new year. And if it turns out that life gives you eggplants, don't hesitate, appreciate their virtues, see it as an opportunity and make an eggplantade!
