PsychoDreamElectroGaze by Bear of Bombay
Between kosmische rhythms and explosions of color and melody, Bear Of Bombay is the solo project of Milanese multi-instrumentalist Lorenzo Parisini. His new album “PsychoDreamElectroGaze” further establishes his style following the publication of a first EP, “Something Stranger” in 2021. PsychoDreamElectroGaze is the title/manifesto of a 9-track recording situated between electronica and dreampop, new wave and psychedelic, conjures a soundscape that looks to be a combination of krautrock, synthpop, and post-punk.
The listener is transported into the dilated and hypnotic dimension of a flow in which synth/sequencer carpets, drum machine beats, noise and ethereal guitars, and vocal lines poised between pop and experimentation gradually succeed and merge with one another, giving rise to a sound with a new wave imprint and a structural declination toward electro- nic forms. PsychoDreamElectroGaze is a postmodern citation of several sounds and eras that cohabit in a very personal equation influenced by music from the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s.
