The Nightline by BATTS
'The Nightline' is BATTS sophomore album - due for release October 14th.
It was recorded in the Australian bush surrounded by horses and Australian birds that often joined Batt and her band for lunch. Long-time band members Lachlan O'Kane, Ross Beaton, Brendan Tsui and Adam Dean, with the honorary sixth member Alex O'Gorman engineering.
The record was produced by BATTS herself and features collaborations with two of her idols: Sharon Van Etten & Deep Sea Diver.
Where BATTS' debut album The Grand Tour was a concept album surrounding NASA's Voyager mission, The Nightline sees her cover more earthly issues such as grief, chronic illness, love and mental illness. It is heavily influenced by the 70's and 90's with BATTS stating her main intention was to make an album her late father-in-law would have loved.
