At the end of their lives, most people do not regret that they did not have a career and earn more money, but that they did not spend more time with loved ones.
People spend a large part of their lives at work. We live in a meritocracy that strongly links human value and identity to (work) performance.
But what happens when we question this? Decide and demand to fill our lives with things that touch us?
These questions and answers can be heard in “Acuka”. Both the urgency and the anger about the conditions that make us so unfree can be heard in the music, as well as the joy of shaping our own lives in a self-determined way. The engaging, dancing rhythm of the song reminds us that we are not machines, but highly imperfect beings who somehow all want to be happy.

Batiar Gang is a unique collective of clanging trumpets, saxophones and clarinets, two artistic accordions, a powerful drum kit, funky bass and unique, polyphonic vocals from south-eastern Europe. They dance and sweat to an unmistakable borscht of songs from the band's 10-year history, created on the roads or with a lot of wanderlust in the rehearsal room at home.
