'Smile' sees B-ahwe flit between bouncy R&B lyrical flows and soaring melodies, with TAMBALA's production perfectly complementing her vocal embellishments.
A shimmering, hip-hop beat is built around a keys loop and popping synth bass parts that give way to a euphoric synth and break-beat-led ending. Lyrically, the track focuses on self-empowerment and the need to check in with ourselves. It's a call to hone in on the positives and happiness that provide the energy to power through life's challenges.
"Smile has been a labour of joy, originally written whilst me and TAMBALA were travelling in Vietnam just before the lockdowns happened. It's lyrically inspired by Nat King Cole’s 1954 classic of the same name, which encouraged people to keep smiling through life’s adversities."
