Sirens from URSINE by BAHR

Sirens started screaming over my town.
Sirens -they can’t stop what’s going on.

It wasn’t real until it’s real for some time.
Now the Iron Curtain destroyed all hope to come.

Sirens, they just scream over my town.
Though I can’t stand it I will not let my people down!

The dedication in the eyes of the little one:
She may not survive but she’ll be remembered to the end of time!

Oh, the sunny days feel so far away
But for my mother’s sake I will stay.
Nothing is right and everything might vanish tonight
But we’ll still fight

The rumble of a heavy tank
The howling dogs in riverbank
I’m not scared. I am awake.
I’ll keep on singing in my trench.

I’m with my old neighbor here.
And my students, and their peers.
We won’t be anybody’s slaves.
This is our home. This is our grave.

Sirens keep on screaming over my town!
Sirens! Somebody please shut them down!

It is praying time but there’s no God to be found.
He must be in a ditch somewhere with my friends, dead and drown.
