Bad Hammer’s "Mystified" constitutes a holy trinity for troubled times: a song, a scent, a commercial. It‘s a threefold play of the senses, captured in a pyramidal facon, an object of desire as intricate and in demand as “The Maltese Falcon”, and its contents contain a scent as intriguing as Joel Cairo‘s chypre perfume in John Huston‘s 1941 film.

The propulsive single’s recurring line “until you’re mine” makes plain the composition’s intention: an ultimate longing for possession, be the desire of the material, physical, emotional or spiritual realm. Concurrently, "Mystified" reacts to the commercial alliance between pop icons and a cosmetics industry perpetually on the prowl for new markets. Hence "Mystifed ́s" music video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=41gwhDoVjNw) doubles as a commercial for a limited edition luxury fragrance that can be purchased.

The musical aspect of the "Mystified" trinity is completed by three remixes from Berlin based contemporaries Chikiss (https://chikissecrets.bandcamp.com/), Giraffi Dog (https://doomchakratapes.bandcamp.com/album/giraffi-dog-lexistence-du-r-ve) and Sami Toroi (https://long-sam.bandcamp.com/releases).

"Mystified" sees cassette release via Doom Chakra Tapes (https://doomchakratapes.bandcamp.com/) on May 27, 2020, backed with B-side iphone-recorded unreleased material. A CD-single will concurrently be released via ITALIAN ISLAND.
