Hatka (Remixes) by Shuma
The idea of creating this release appeared to us a long time ago. We wanted to make a release of remixes dedicated to a track written by a Belarusian artist and began to mull over who it could be. Since we have been friends with the guys from ethnic electronic music group ’’Shuma’’ for a long time and we were fans of their work, they were the first ones in our list of artists. We made them an offer and the guys agreed immediately.
We were offered to choose one of the tracks from the album "Shuma - Me, Mother", which was released in 2019, to create remixes. The track Hatka was chosen, which means "a house" in Belarusian language. We wanted the remixes for the release to be written by Belarusian producers, as well as producers from other parts of the world, in a 50-50 ratio. But to our surprise, there were more compatriots willing to take part in writing remixes than we expected, so 7 out of 9 tracks were written by Belarusians. The foreign guests were represented as a bright participant of the ‘’Pornceptual” project - Deepneue and one of the executives of the ‘’Sticky Ground’’ label - küetzal.
The release was supposed to come out earlier, but circumstances appeared so that it is coming out right now, at not the easiest time for our planet. With this release, we want to speak out in support of peace and against what is happening right now in the center of Europe, on the territory of Ukraine. All the money from the sale of the album will go to help the victims.
