The exploration of the Universe has been a great inspiration for electronic music artists from the beginning of the Space-Age into the present. Aural Films is commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the Moon landing with a new on-going series featuring collections by Space Music artists from around the world.

Volume 3 continues with a collection of music from ever prolific Netherlands Electronic Music artist, Phrozenlight. Read more about what he has to say about Space and Music in the Questions and Answers below:

Q: When did you first become interested in Space exploration?

A: After the landing on the moon, I saw it live on television. After that I had a lot of space posters in my sleeping room.

Q: What interests your most about Space exploration?

A: There are no boundaries in space…

Q: Would you travel to space given the chance?

A: Not anymore, if you had asked me before I married I would say yes…

Q: How does the exploration of the Universe effect or inspire your work as an artist?

A: It let me dream into the deep dark. I can escape the daily problems.

Q: How are ideas from Space exploration used in your work?

A: Mostly the traveling between the nebula’s like Major Tom. 😉😉

Q: What are your favorite instruments for making Space music?
of course synths, but also electric guitar with a lot of effects.

Q: Is there any relationship between Space exploration and electronic music?

A: No, only you as listener will make the connection..

Q: How is Space music different from popular styles of music?

A: What is Space music?? It can be rock, but also ambient… I believe Space music is a state of mind.
