Tenchu by San + Hanzo Reiza
in Japanese, "Ten" means "Sky" or "Heaven" while "Chu" means "Death Penalty". The term "Tenchu" (天誅) was originally used by Ishin-side assassins and means; "to bring down judgement on behalf of the heavens" or "heaven's well deserved punishment" or indeed "wrath of heaven".
Tenchu is the second collaborative offering from producer SAN, the Instru-Monumentalist and Emcee HANZO REIZA. The album does not only pay homage to the ancient art of Ninjutsu (and through that, the classical stealth game of the same name), but it is also a reminder in mordern times of the musical potency behind the well woven synergy of beats and rhymes.
SAN hails from The Kingdom of Lesotho in Southern Africa. HANZO hails from London by way of Tokyo, Japan.
