Platypus Funk by ASM (A State Of Mind)

A State of Mind (ASM) are multi-national lyricists Green-T and FP, as well as MPC-wizard Fade. Their rhyme-flipping nerdery, deep funk grooves, soulful horn-lines and neck-snapping boom-bap drums have been compared to the likes of Jurassic 5, The Pharcyde, People Under The Stairs, and A Tribe Called Quest. This is their first LP on First Word, and they've rounded up an impressive series of collabs, including DJ Vadim (BBE Music), Sadat X (Brand Nubian), Wildchild (Stones Throw), Kid Kanevil (Firstword), Bonobo (Tru-Thoughts) and Mr Mattic (Wax Tailor crew). Look out for them on tour with legendary French producer Wax Tailor this summer.
