Anima Mundi by Arsule

Anima Mundi, "the soul of the world," establishes the cosmic sonic narrative of a world breathing—beginning with the creation of the primordial breath and its unfolding, leading to its culmination, disappearance, transformation, maturation, and rebirth.

It is said that "Nothing is lost; everything transforms." It is this movement, this process of transformation, that captivated me.

On a cosmic scale, I wanted to hear and imagine a living world being created, unfurling before me, but I also sought to grasp its essence, to feel it flow through me, to sense its shimmering light incarnate within me through the vibrations of sound, through the harmony of melodies. Perhaps I was answering the fantasy of placing myself in the perspective of the divine—or at least the image I had of it at that moment. My intent was to convey and feel pure emotions tied to the different stages of the story. Only a language as universal as music allowed me to tell this tale.

The result is an album that remains deeply personal. For what one wishes to be immense or intense is never more than a close-up view of something seemingly small, yet within it lies an entire universe.

Anima Mundi, "l'âme du monde" instaure le récit cosmogonique sonore d'un monde qui respire, depuis la création du souffle primordial et son développement, jusqu'à son aboutissement, sa disparition et sa mutation, sa maturation et sa renaissance.


Il paraît que "Rien ne se perd, tout se transforme." C'est ce mouvement qui m'intéressait, ce processus de transformation.


À une échelle cosmique, je voulais entendre et imaginer un monde vivant se créer, se déployer devant moi, mais je voulais aussi en saisir l'essence, la sentir me traverser, sentir sa lumière grouillante s'incarner en moi, grâce aux vibrations du son, à l'harmonie des mélodies. Peut-être répondais-je au fantasme de me placer du point de vue du divin, ou de l'image que j'en avais à ce moment là. Avec l'intention de transmettre et de ressentir des émotions pures liées aux différentes étapes du récit. Seul un langage comme la musique me permettait de raconter cette histoire.


Il en résulte un album qui demeure très personnel. Car ce que l'on voudrait immense ou intense n'est jamais qu'un point de vue rapproché de ce qui peut paraître petit, et qui pourtant renferme un univers.
