HAVANA by Armed Jouissance

The last decade has been profoundly strange.
JFK cults, the new-old satanic panic, needle spiking, Tiktok Tourettes. UFO reports spiked 16% in 2020, so much so that millions of American tax dollars are going towards figuring out who is putting those lights in the sky. It's gotten so the colloidal silver and MMS weirdos hardly blip on the radar anymore. There's too much other data. Paranoia flows to and from apparatuses of power, with nothing in the path remaining unaffected by the stream.

Like in 2015, when a recording of a mysterious buzzing started getting passed around the United States embassy in Havana, Cuba with a message that the sound preempted a mysterious illness. Before long the narrative evolved to include Russian spies, microwave ray guns, sound weapons, and brain damage. The embassy closed, everyone was sent home, but that didn't stop the Russian spies from making American diplomats ill with their exotic rays around the world. Even going as far as to drive a supposed white van, loaded with a sonic (or microwave?) weapon and brazenly targeting individuals in one of the world's most surveilled cities. Symptoms of the effected lasted for years, long enough for congress to unanimously approve financial support for them.

Watching from the sidelines was a group of people who knew these weapons well, who had this illness, and who were suffering daily attacks by unseen adversaries. Targeted Individuals (TIs), as they called themselves, considering themselves victims of what they called "gangstalking" or "group stalking," were finally going to get recognized for the daily pains and agonies they struggled though, and maybe they'd even be compensated for all the time spent under constant surveillance, under a bombardment of top secret weaponry derived to drive them mad, and isolate them from everyone around them.

But nothing happened.

Their stories and experiences had been heard and validated by the most powerful people in the world, and the TIs were still where they started. Still trapped in the most horrifying headspace I can imagine.

This album is where those two stories converge. How the stories from TIs created open a void in reality for the United States security state to nestle into.
