Lord I love Your flowing stream
Turning desert valleys green
In the sun, all day it gleams
Drifting on at night like dreams

Winding everywhere with ease
Over rocks and under trees
On its way back to the seas
Cool and gentle as the breeze

Rivers flow out from Your hand
Raising life in barren land
Bringing bounty up from sand
Quenching thirst of beast and man

Spring brings and icy flow
From Your mountains capped in snow
Water falls, down it goes
To thirsty valleys far below

Your river has an endless length
Crops are pushed up by Your strength
People sing Your Name in thanks
While they play beside her banks

But Your clean stream seems to reach fewer
For she is afflicted by evildoers
In their greed they use and abuse her
Turning Your river into their sewer

Dumping until she’s darker than tar
Poisoning water near and afar
Then bottling up every clean reservoir
Trying to sell us what’s already ours

God I pray you give your worst
To those who make the water cursed
May they dwell in a hell on Earth
Surrounded by rivers but dying of thirst

Give them a taste of their toxic waste
Pour pollution back in their face
Wash them away from the human race
Your children are thirsty Lord make haste
