A leaf falls upon a calm river
Waking it up from its slumber
The reflection hurries to catch up
With the leaf that floats as it caresses
The calm river with ripples
And it smiled back at her
The trees looked at her as she stood beneath them
The glimmering light of the moon escaped
Through the gaps between the leaves
Casting a dark and soft figure beside her
A distant hooting of a lonely owlet
Echoes through the murky woods
Waiting for its mother to return
In hunger it remains, awake in the dark
A gust of wind blows the leaf
That was once upon the river
It flies until it lands upon the chest
Of the girl who was once beneath the trees
It asks her to seek the lonely owlet
Accompanied by the moonlight and her shadow
