Pretty Please from Lucky Stars by Anya Van Rose

Dreamy, confident, unconventional, "Pretty Please" is the first song on Anya's debut full-length record
Lucky Stars. You can almost smell the
pine tree air freshener and bubblegum from the backseat of her limousine as the chorus chimes with a
vintage Omnichord and swells with pedal steel. The vocal harmonies that appear in the chorus translate
with dissonance to mimic a car horn repetitively beeping. Other sounds that were field-recorded from
Anya's car including the "no seatbelt warning," were pitched to match the key of the song and are tucked
away in the 3rd verse. "Pretty Please" is an expression of Anya's internal dialogue and you can't help but
feel like you're opening a fortune cookie as her message of abundance reads a little off-kilter. "You can't
wait for your limousine moment to fall into your lap. Get what you want with pursuit." (Lucky numbers: 11,
