Per il terzo ciclo di improvvisazioni del progetto Songs for Kraken si è scelto di utilizzare la forma del teatro sonoro elettroacustico; l’utilizzo di una partitura evocativa resta uno dei punti fondanti del progetto. Il duo è composto da Antonio Ciaramella, ideatore, alla chitarra e sintetizzatore e Giovanni Simiele, attore, alla voce e loop machine. I due sono coinvolti in un percorso che vede un individuo vivere le trasformazioni dei propri stati di coscienza.

“Before any form of functional or non-functional, external or inner expression... even before thought and emotional engagement, there is a sort of incandescent magma that has no shape. The non-shape from which everything originates – not to be mistaken for dream, which shows us a pure filter of reality every night but is also influenced by it – is being before the particular (and not the universal) self. It’s the uncodified spark that we human beings simplify – through external conditioning and crafted efforts – into universal feelings, collective imagination and works of art, in order not to fall into madness. Despite this, even though we implement a simplification process, there is still a sense of something remaining unexpressed, and the unexpressed stops time. Indeed, neither time nor space exist for the non-form. Thus, we are immortal.
Communication before codified language, non-words, sensations rather than feelings, perception rather than ascertainment, the bottom of a stormy sea, the sound of an animal, the singsong of an insect – all of this exists before us and inside of us. Before our specific material body.”
