This EP gathers three versions of "COMPTINE", a track that has evolved over seven years. The first iteration was released in 2016 on a compilation by the Brussels-based label Thin Consolation. It was my first - and maybe too prudent - attempt at ambient techno, and I felt the need to push it further. The second version is infused with a throbbing melancholy that would suit what was to follow... It was released in February 2020, just before the pandemic outbreak, on the "La fin des pseudonymes" album (also on Thin Consolation). My discovery of the Roland TR-8S groovebox set the tone for the third variation, fresh from 2023. The result is way more techno and even more melancholic... Teardrops on the dancefloor?
