The sleeve already tells you the color, and the name of the group recalls both Ornette Coleman’s Prime-Time and Miles Davis’s electric jazz. At the end of the 1970s, bassist Louis Xavier put together a “Parisian” super group for this track, which is as indebted to post-progressive rock as it is to suggestive soul: Jo Maka, the Guinean saxophonist, a master of post-free, multi-voiced percussionist George-Edouard Nouel, Steve McCall, the drummer from Great Black Music made in Chicago, Gérard Curbillon, the French guitarist with a flare for the Mersey Beat, violinist Jean-Yves Rigaud, all around an incredible solo, brasilian singer Nazaré Peirera, Bernard & Francis Lapierre and Louis Xavier for the hypnotic chorus and vocals. The result of this addition is a kind of sound that is indescribable, of a fatal and transcendental beauty, like some kind of organic hip-hop ahead of its time.
