I met a pretty girl when she caught me with her curls
As I leaned along the side of the room

I had to quit my job, so I found another job
Crunchin' numbers from nine to five
It beat bussin' tables, but the rat-race fable
Held me down from wantin' to thrive
I felt the final straw when I found they broke the law
Skimmin' money from the payroll line
And when I resigned with a piece of my mind
All they said to me was, "Bye-bye"

You call for Lady Luck, but she don't give a fuck
So just forget her
You got some bills to pay, so kiss your life away
