When my dad died, my brother had a lot to process about their relationship—what was said, what wasn’t, and how he carried their connection forward. This song is about the way that grief doesn’t just sit still; it shifts, reshapes itself, and takes on new meaning over time—just like the color blue does throughout the song. Blue can be sadness, distance, and longing, but it’s also depth, reflection, and warmth. It’s in the autumn moon, the winter sky, the summer ocean—all different, but all the same color.
