Embrace spring
Ask the rose where the sacred moment lies
lingering inside a little blue universe
like brilliant broken sky windows
singing perfumed decay

The time is soon
The dream is you

One
languid
eternity

Go on, go planting seeds along the hungry roadside
Go on, go walk with your demons
Bring back a piece of the inside

Are you a kind man?
Are you a con man?
Are you a madman?
Are you no mans land?
Are you dry land for a woman lost at sea?

Or are you just a man
orphaned by a world that showed you war would set us free,
an undulating puzzle piece in my yearning memory,
beautiful abstraction that almost fits
inside me?

When I first heard, it was whispered in the wind chimes
When I first could see, it was written plainly as a child’s rhyme,
pure and glaring:
