Though it hasn't been the perfect year
TwentyPlenty's nearly done and things are looking up my dear
We can mull some wine and hang some shiny things on the tree
At the top of my present list is simply your presence here with me

Long dark winter's nights can be dreary
But now you're here with me, Christmas is looking more cheery

Light the fire, lock the door and cuddle down
This winter, staying in is the new night on the town
We won't go outdoors for more than just a bunled-up walk or two
And if the mood is right, I just might share my selection box with you

If you asked me what my Christmas wish is
I would answer just "not to have to do the dishes"

Now this New Year might not go quite as planned
Bumping elbows with your friends instead of shaking hands
As midnight chimes and Auld Lang Syne is sung at the Bells
Here's health and happiness, and a hope that next year will see us well
